Farm Toys Light Up Little Faces at Christmas
December 31, 2016Our daughters are 25 and 23 now.
The years sure fly by, don't they. Seems like yesterday. This past week I was reminded again of that special gleam in young ones's eyes as they receive that one special Christmas gift. Pure magic.
I was reminded of the magic this week after posts on our Machinery Pete Facebook page and Twitter feed featuring young farm kids with their new farm toys went viral. Pure joy in these young one's faces. One in particular had quite a story behind it. My auctioneer friend Eric Gabrielson with the Steffes Group, Inc. (http://www.steffesgroup.com) sent me this picture:
Here was Eric's note: "This is my son Deacon (5 years old). I built this cattle pot for him for Christmas this year. The tractor was purchased from a local implement dealer. The trailer was built of stainless steel. Deacon was born deaf and had cochlear implants surgically installed when he was two years old. His speech has really come around this year!"
Go Deacon :-)
