CaseIH 7140 Tractor on Minnesota Auction Sold for 2nd Highest Price Ever

I knew these tractors could be hot sellers. Boy were they.

Saturday (April 1, 2017) on a farm retirement auction in Hastings, MN, a sale by my good friends at Houghton's Auction Service (http://www.houghtonauctions.com). The 1990 CaseIH 7140 Magnum pictured below with only 2,972 actual hours sold for $71,000:

$71,000 is the 2nd highest auction sale price I've ever seen on a CaseIH 7140. The highest price...$76,500 on a July 27, 2013 farm auction in Marshalltown, IA for a 1990 model with 3,270 hours in like new condition. Here's a look at the 5 highest auction sale prices on 7140's:
