Strong Prices on Ohio and Idaho Farm Auctions Today and Yesterday

March 25, 2017

I saw some pretty strong sale prices on farm auctions around the country yesterday and today (March 23-24, 2017). If you caught my "Pete's Pick of the Week" cell phone message this afternoon you saw the 2004 John Deere 9660 STS combine with 2,436 engine hours sold for $94,000 yesterday on a farm auction in northeast Missouri. That is the 3rd highest auction price on a 9660 STS combine in the past 19 months. The sale yesterday was by Sullivan Auctioneers (http://www.sullivanauctioneers.com). Here's a picture of the 9660:

Another strong sale yesterday came from an online farm auction in south-central Idaho by my friends at Musser Bros. Auctions and Real Estate (http://www.mbauction.com). The 2014 John Deere 6170R tractor pictured below, with 565 hours, sold for a new record high auction price of $138,600. The previous high auction price I'd seen on a 6170R was $126,000:

Today (March 24, 2017) on a farm auction in central Ohio by the great team at The Wendt Group (http://www.thewendtgroup.com) more strong prices filtered in, like the 2006 John Deere 9520 4WD tractor pictured below sold for $134,000. It had 2,187 hours. $134,000 is the highest auction sale price on a Deere 9520 4WD tractor in the U.S. since August 26, 2014, so over 2 1/2 years:

Another strong price on the central Ohio farm auction today was the 2012 John Deere S680 combine with 838 engine hours for $190,000. That is the 3rd highest auction sale price on a 2012 model S680 the past 15 mo. Here's a pic of it:

Another busy auction day tomorrow, as all Saturdays in March tend to be. Can't wait to see what's up for sale and what it goes for. Stay tuned.
