Nebraska Custom Harvester Retires After 49 Years - Auction Wednesday

February 28, 2017

Folks been talking about this auction for a while now, the retirement auction for Scott and Linda Payne (S&L Farms, Inc.) of Imperial, Neb. This auction features a lot of shiny late model farm equipment...but this sale is about more than that.

It's about nearly 50 years of relationships.

Scott Payne got into the custom havesting biz back in 1968 with his purchase of a 1958 Massey Harris 92 combine. He's been custom harvesting from Texas to Canada since. I absolutely love the beautiful write up on Scott and Linda career in the sales brochure for this sale by my friends at Sullivan Auctioneers (http://www.sullivanauctioneers.com). Check it out:

Scott's come a long way since that first John Deere combine (7720) he bought in 1979. Check out the (3) 2016 John Deere S670 combines on the auction Wednesday (994, 1,006 and 1,012 engine hours):

Here's a video preview of the auction, including an on site video welcome from Zach Hiner with Sullivan Auctioneers (http://www.sullivanauctioneers.com):

Should be quite a sale Wednesday in Imperial, Neb. I hope to post some Youtube video highlights after the auction.
