John Deere 8330 Tractor and 348 Baler Sold Strong on Ohio Farm Auction Today

March 24, 2018

The Dennis Farms auction today (March 23, 2018) in central Ohio (Delaware, OH) featured a real nice line of farm equipment, not a ton of stuff, but the main items were nice. The sale was by The Wendt Group (http://www.TheWendtGroup.com). A couple of strong sale prices stood out.

Now let's provide some more perspective on 8330 values now and over the past few years. While $144K is indeed a very strong sale price, here's a look at the Avg. Auction Price on John Deere 8330 tractors over the past 3 years along with High & Low sale prices for each year:

Avg. Auction Price on John Deere 8330 Tractors

Calendar Year Avg. Auction Sale Price
2018 $80,600  (High $144,000; Low $49,000)
2017 $92,119  (High $148,500; Low $45,500)
2016 $89,322  (High $145,000; Low $52,250)
2015 $89,944  (High $139,920; Low $43,000)

Interesting...the High auction price and the Low auction price over the past 3 years on John Deere 8330's have held pretty steady, as did the overall Avg. Auction Price, until this year, down 12.5% from last year's Avg. Auction Price of $92,119. A big part here could be the big surge we've seen in the No. of farm machinery auctions in early 2018. Lots of sales out there, lots of later model equipment. As we've been seeing, the nicest condition items, like the 2009 John Deere 8330 with 1,520 hours on the Delaware, OH farm auction today sold for $144,000 continue to hold strong and bring good money at the top end, but if not as nice, or more hours...seeing softer sale prices.

So the 2009 John Deere 8330 with 1,520 hours sold for $144,000 today on the central Ohio farm auction. The current Avg. Dealer Advertised Price on a 2009 John Deere 8330 Tractor = $116,758. Another strong seller on the central Ohio farm auction today was the 2011 John Deere 348 square baler pictured below that went for $17,000.

$17,000 comes in as the highest auction sale price on a John Deere 348 baler in 22 mo. and the 2nd highest auction price the past 27 mo. Again, super condition item on a farm auction here vs. a large regional consignment or wholesale auction. Here's a look the highest auction prices the past 3 years on John Deere 348 balers:
