Farmer Made Self Propelled Forage Wagons

Funny how one story leads to another.

Last week on social media a follower sent me couple cool pics of a farmer made self propelled forage wagon in the New Holland, PA area. I featured this cool innovation on my weekly Machinery Pete segment on Ag Day TV show Monday morning, here's the clip:


Well, a viewer in New York state, Andrew Mammoser, was watching and subsequently reached out to share with me a pic of an old yellow IHC 4100 4WD tractor his grandpa turned into his own self propelled forage wagon in the late 1980's. Here's a pic:


Here was Andrew's note to me:  "I saw your post of the John Deere self propelled forage wagon. Here is a picture of my dad's IHC 4100. Grandpa built in the late 1980's for the wet falls in western New York. It will push and pull anything stuck in the mud."

Farmers finding better ways to get 'er done. Love it.
