July 16, 2016

I can't wait to get our HD TV cameras on this line of farm equipment.

I will be covering a farm retirement auction August 11th in Hammond, IL for Dale Fulton, a 95 year old bachelor farmer with an incredible line of beautiful, low hour, 1 owner equipment. We will film the auction for our Machinery Pete TV show. Dale is pictured above standing by his IHC 856 tractor with only 3,172 hours and a like new IHC 2350 loader. Check out the other tractors on Dale's auction:

Case IH STX450 with only 712 hours, 1 owner

CaseIHSTX450-IL

CaseIH MX230 with only 650 hours, 1 owner

CaseIHMX230-IL

So why the extremely low hours? Quite a story actually. I'll let Jessica Janes, Sales Agent with Bauer Auction Service (http://www.bauerauction.com) fill us in:

"Dale Fulton is a 95 year old bachelor who started farming in 1970 after the passing of his parents," said Janes. "Dale has been an excellent care taker of his farm and machinery, all equipment purchased new and custom ordered from the factory. What was on the lot was never good enough for Dale. When it came from the factory to the dealership, if the the dealership did not have room for it to be stored inside, it was brought to Dale’s farm immediately to be kept out of the elements. Early in life Dale was a WWII aviator, flying overseas. In 1946 he was the winner of the SOHIO class of the National Air Race in Cleveland, Ohio flying a P51D Mustang." Here is a picture of Dale in Life magazine from 1946 when he won the SOHIO race:

"From post war to 1980 Dale was a commercial pilot for TWA airlines, farming 633 acres and flying full time for 10 years. Dale has farmed from 1970 to 2015. Dale is still actively managing his farm and is keeping his entire shop of quality shop equipment to continue enjoying retirement."

Wow.
