Pair of Unique Ford County Tractors in Minnesota

January 13, 2017

The Flies brothers from Plainview, MN. There are 10 of them, each of whom collects antique/vintage tractors. All totaled, they own over 100 tractors.

I've known auctioneer Steve Flies for many years, great guy. Always a smile for you. Talking with Steve recently he mentioned oldest brother Bill Flies had a pair of Ford County tractors he was looking to sell. Wow, are they nice! Here's a pic of Bill's 1969 Ford County 754...sweet. Following the pic is Bill Flies's note to me about his pair of County tractors for sale:

"I am Bill Flies, brother of Steve Flies who you know.  As Steve may have told you, our conclave of 10 brothers and few nephews have a collection of over 100 tractors and most are restored.  I am the oldest of the brothers and, at 76, want to begin liquidating some of my collection. I have an excellent restored 1962 Ford County Super 6 tractor and an excellent restored 1969 Ford County 754 tractor that I wish to sell this spring."

" The 754 is based on the Ford 5000 with a 4.2L 75 HP diesel engine, 8 speed synchro trans, 3 point, and power steering. I am asking $15,000."

Here are a few pics of Bill Flies's restored 1962 Ford County Super 6 tractor:

"The Super 6 has a Ford 6.6L 96 HP diesel engine, 8 speed synchro trans, 3 Point, and power steering.  The Super 6 has less than 40 hours on a complete restoration. I am asking $20,000 for the Super 6."

If interested in either of these County tractors, drop Bill Flies an email:  b.flies@mchsi.com.

Bill says if he can't get 'em sold, he'll look to take them to Mecum Auction's Spring sale in Davenport, IA.
